Here at GULS we want to help you get the most from your degree, and that includes getting your dream job at the end. We partner with a number of law firms to give you a leg-up when applying for them, so you should head over to our sponsors page where you can find out who we work with and how you can impress them. We also have a number of academic events aimed at enhancing your employability and give you a chance to speak to some of these firms, so make sure you come along when they are.

Employer Presentation: Army Legal Services
Tuesday 18 October
17.00 - 18.30, Gloag Lecture Theatre, Stair Building
A drinks reception will follow in the Halliday Room.

The Army Legal Services (ALS) delivers legal support to the British Army for all its activities in the UK and overseas.  The Army’s lawyers are qualified solicitors and barristers who are also commissioned officers on the Army staff.  They advise the Army’s commanders on the legal issues relating to operations, prosecute servicemen at Court Martial and provide advice and training to the Army on a range of international, civil and criminal law issues.  Wherever the Army is, the ALS will be there in support; therefore the opportunities for travel and variety of work are extensive.

Hear what a serving ALS officer says about what it is like to be a lawyer in the military and take the opportunity to ask questions.
